Head Coach

Xiang Hao Mu

Coach Mu Xiang Hao was previously a head coach of Chinese National Swimming team and Olympic team. In addition, he was an associate head coach of swimming team of Princeton University and the University of Iowa. His swimmers have consistently placed in the highest rankings in China for over 50 years. His club team swimmers have numerous state championships and have placed in the top of 16 nationally. Several examples of his students are: Zhuang Yong got Medal of the 3rd world swimming championships & Silver Medal of the 24th Olympic Games; Rebecca Soni got Gold Medal of 200 meter breaststroke in NCAA in 2006; Rob Leyshon got Men’s 200 meter breaststroke 3rd place in the world in 1999, etc.

He is a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association. He is a respected coach and clinician of international distinction. He is often called upon to lecture for International Coaches Clinics and the American Swimming Coaches Association.

Coach Mu American swimmers have become NCAA champions and have broken American National records in the 200 free. His club team swimmers have numerous state championships and have placed in the top 16 nationally. As recently as 1999, one of his swimmers went to he Junior Nationals and earned a bonus final championship. Coach Mu has published a multitude of articles on technique and swimming training methods. We at New York Xiang Hao Swimming Club are truly blessed to have him as a coach. Over the years, his indefatigable dedication to his swimmers is cause for great admiration.

Director/Associate Head Coach

Xingdi Shi

Coach Shi is a member of the United States Swimming Coaches Association, also a licensed coach by Red Cross Society of America, and a former National Swimming Team member of China. He was continuously invited in National Sport Competitions three times between the years of 1975 to 1983 with numerous medals such as National Champion in Freestyle in National Sport Competition of 1979. He broke several times and kept Ba-Yi national Freestyle record for 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 1500 meter. In addition, he participated in international swimming competition and got a silver medal for 100 meter butterfly (stroke). He graduated his undergraduate study in Guangzhou sport institute. Latter, he became a famous coach for Ba-Yi National swimming team after his excellent performance in his field. Because of his rich experience in swimming techniques and effective teaching skill, he has successfully trained numerous top ranking National swimming students.

Assistant Coach

Lixin Chen

Coach Chen was a former Zhejiang province professional swimming team member and got several championships in a National district swimming competitions for 50 meter and 100 meter Freestyle. He, as a Chinese swimming team member, got championship in 100 meter Freestyle in the international swimming competition hosted in Hong Kong in 1985. He also was championships in professional group in National University Sport Competition and also a national record holder.

Young Chen

Chinese college swimmers, national level athletes.

More than 15 years of professional swimming training, as a high-level student athlete, won the 2015 National College Swimming Championships outstanding athletes, the 2016 National College Swimming Championships 50m freestyle champion, the 50m butterfly third runner-up, the 2013-2016 Hubei Provincial College Swimming Championships, 2016 National Adult Swimming Championship.

Graduated from ST. Jones University with a master’s degree in Sports Management. Bachelor of Laws in China. Currently responsible for the daily operations, event planning, marketing and management of the NY Xianghao Swimming Club.

Associate Head Coach

Zeyun Xiu

Zeyun Xiu, a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, was a member of the Northeastern University Swimming Club. She is known as a sprinting legend in the team and her main strokes are backstroke and freestyle. She performed well in the 2024 National College Club Swimming Competition in Indianapolis, and her 100-meter backstroke and 50-meter freestyle have repeatedly won first place in multiple regional swimming competitions too, including the Harvard University Invitational, Brown University Spring Meet, and Boston College Invitational.

She has served as an assistant coach to Bingyan Han, a famous Olympic coach of the Chinese national team, and has a descent teaching experience. In addition, she has obtained national certification and has represented top high school in China which with the best student-athlete swimming team, and has always been among the top in 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle and various relay races. Her comprehensive skills and experience in training and a wide range of sports background have successfully made her an important asset to our swimming program.

Wu

Coach Wu 1982 he graduated from the Beijing Institute of Physical Education (now Beijing Sport University) is the only major sports university in China. From 1982 to 1992, he was engaged in sports teaching and swimming coaching at Jinan University in Guangzhou. He has not had intermittent education in swimming in the United States and has more than 20 years of experience in swimming teaching.
